A collection of illustrations inspired by my recent trip to Lisbon, Portugal.
I had pastel de nata (an egg custard pastry) and espresso for breakfast every day (sometimes multiple times a day) when I was in Portugal. The table tile is inspired by a building façade I saw in Lisbon (most of the buildings there are covered in beautiful hand-painted porcelain tiles).
A sleeping kitty, stretched out across a tiled courtyard. As seen from the hilltop of São Jorge Castle.
I saw this little cherub holding a skull on a gravestone in the Carmo Convent ruins, a dilapidated shell of Gothic architecture… a bit more macabre than what we’re used to seeing on gravestones in the States, so I drew him.
